When is Euphoria season 3 coming?
First things first, we all know that Barbie Ferreira, who plays Kat Hernandez in the show, will not be returning for the new season. In this article by Collider, they tell us that they were expected to start filming in February, but nothing has been confirmed. A make-up artist, Donni Davy, said to them that each episode takes a month to film. Since each season consists of eight episodes, we can predict we won’t get a show till early 2024. They won’t finish filming until October and then they will need time to edit and release information to press.
No other castings have been confirmed for Euphoria season 3. Still, we hope that it is safe to say that Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Colman Domingo, Eric Dane, and Storm Reid will all be back. Fans will be happy when they know that the main characters are returning, so we’ll be sure to confirm this Fall when the press knows more information. Season 2 left us off on a cliffhanger which is why fans have been at the edge of their seat waiting to hear back about season 3. With so many main actors in the show, it takes a lot of time to line up their schedules for filming. As hard as it is, we have to be patient for this next season.
Before we get further into season 3, let’s recap where we left off in the plot. If you haven’t finished seasons 1 and 2, then we don’t recommend you keep reading in case of any spoilers. We’re looking to where the plot left off and what season 3 will cover.
Euphoria Season 1
In season 1, you see Rue struggle with a terrible drug addiction, which started when her father was dying of cancer. She becomes sober when she meets a new girl at school named Jules. Nate is catfishing Jules to blackmail her with nude pictures. Nate and Maddy struggle in their relationship on and off and that eventually culminates in a domestic abuse incident. The show is filled with drugs, tears, and bloodshed that leaves us on a cliffhanger with Rue’s relapse.
Euphoria Season 2
In season 2, we see Rue struggle with addiction and her new friendship with Elliot. Throughout the season, Cassie and Nate hook up even though Nate and Maddy are on and off again. Their secret relationship continues throughout the season until it is suddenly brought to everyone’s attention. Rue is the one to expose their secret, which leads Cassie to embrace it until she experiences the abuse Maddy did. The season ends with Ash, the youngest character, getting killed.
Euphoria Season 3
In season 3, rumors have been going around that we will see Ash’s funeral in episode one. We’ll also see how Cassie is doing after Nate breaks up with her and if she and Maddy will ever recover their friendship. Another thing we can expect to see is Cal in jail after Nate called the police and got him arrested. What we know for sure is that season 3 is going to be full of heartache and drama.

Euphoria is talked about in Variety as it being the most-watched show on HBO even though there was a year and a half gap due to Covid. Amazingly, that didn’t steer away the fans when season 2 came back. When Euphoria season 3 returns, no one will be surprised if it is number one again.
Even with the little details we have on Euphoria season 3, it still gets fans pumped for when they do release more information. We should cross our fingers that they release more information soon, so we have something to hold on to until the show is released.
