The holidays are for warm fires, colder weather, spending time with family and friends, forgetting about your diets, and watching cheesy movies while baking sweet treats.

And if you’re like me, you thoroughly enjoy watching movies while you’re baking, specifically baking movies that put you in the best mood to preheat that oven and get out your mixer. But what are the top baking movies to help you get in that holiday spirit?

Starting our list today is Candy Coated Christmas as one of the top baking movies, a comedy romance starring Molly McCook, Aaron O’Connell, Lee Garlington and even Ree Drummond, known as the blogger, author, food writer and television personality as The Pioneer Woman.

The story follows Molly who needs funds to finance her new business idea, but it turns out that her father’s company is threatened by foreclosure. Now, Molly’s only option is to sell her mother’s old house in Peppermint Hollow that is in her name after her mother’s death.

However, her mother’s best friend, son and niece, start to rent the home as they run a mint plantation, but are starting to have trouble due to their biggest client runs out of business. Molly now has to face the task of selling the house and ultimately evicting them.

14. A Christmas Cookie Catastrophe, Prime Video (2022)

Hallmark movies are known for being cringy and cheesy but are also known for being some of the best guilty pleasures we allow ourselves. The acting can be a bit rough, and the story might seem cliche, but that’s the spirit of the holidays if you ask me.

And A Christmas Cookie Catastrophe is just one example of this. Starring Rachel Boston, Victor Webster, Averie Peters and Stephanie Sy, the story follows Annie Cooper who has big shoes to fill when she takes over as CEO of her late grandmother’s small-town cookie company. She has to try and get the shop back on track, but the task gets more daunting when her grandmother’s secret recipe is stolen during the Christmas party.

As Annie tries to find the culprit, she works together with Sam, the owner of a local bakery that helps her try to find the perfect recipe and realize there’s something more than just baking partners.

13. One Delicious Christmas, Max (2022)

It should be enough that Bobby Flay is featured in the cover of this movie. The man is a genius in the cooking industry, and he’s a great guest star in the movie.

Featuring other stars like Bert Cardozo, Judy Deboer, Elana Dunkelman and Candice Lidstone, One Delicious Christmas is a romantic drama that follows Abby who inherits the property of Haven Restaurant and Inn, but unable to manage both, has to team up with the hot-shot chef Preston Weaver to “shake up” the holiday menu and get an investment from restaurant mogul.

12. Sweet Navidad, Peacock and Prime Video (2021)

Starring Camila Banus, Mark Hapka, Melissa Marty and Harrison Grant, this romantic movie, Sweet Navidad, follows a pastry chef who dreams of opening her own shop.

However, when she pairs with another chef for a grand event, they must learn from one another and adapt so they can come together to create a truly inspiring menu in time for Christmas.

11. A Gingerbread Romance, Prime Video (2018)

Another Hallmark movie, which we will be seeing a lot of. The 2018 film is a drama romance that can be found on Amazon Prime Video and stars Tia Mowry, Duane Henry, Jordana Lajoie and Giles Panton.

A Gingerbread Romance follows Taylor who works for an architecture firm that has signed her up for a contest in which the teams will design and build life-sized gingerbread houses. In hopes of getting a promotion for winning the competition, Taylor works with local baker and single dad, Adam, and finds herself longing for the kind of home that Adam brings with him.

Starring Lacey Chabert, Lea Coco and Jonathon Adams, this comedy-drama romance is one you don’t want to miss this year when checking out the top baking movies.

The Sweetest Christmas follows Kylie who is expecting a proposal from her boyfriend/boss at a restaurant but gets a promotion instead. The restaurant owner is her old high school boyfriend who she hasn’t seen in years. The two rekindle, but things get a bit tricky.

Starring Erin Krakow, David Haydn-Jones, Miranda Frigon and Laura Soltis, A Cookie Cutter Christmas is a 2014 comedy romance film that follows James Thompson who enrolls his daughter, Luly, in their new town’s high school.

The rivaling teachers, Christie Reynolds and Penny Miller, are determined to win the heart of James, so when his charity community center organizes a holiday baking contest, they both quickly enter in hopes of impressing.
