After 13 years, Sandler and the crew are officially back.
Grown Ups 3 is officially in development at Netflix, continuing the string of Sandler films on the platform.
Confirmation from Netflix
While the third installment for the beloved duology has long been rumored, even by cast members David Spade and Kevin James, there has been no confirmation. That is, until now.
The newest press release is the first time Netflix has officially confirmed the project’s status, and we could not be more excited.
Rumors are flying that at least the core five actors of the franchise (Sandler, Chris Rock, Spade, James, and Rob Schneider) will return.
Netflix has not said anything about cast members as of yet.
Behind the Scenes
Grown Ups 3 will be directed by Kyle Newacheck. Adam Sandler and Tim Herlihy are co-writing the script.
Sandler, Jackie Sandler, Jack Giarraputo, and Herlihy are producers. Kevin Grady and Judit Maull are executive producers.
Success of Past Films

The original Grown Ups film came out in 2010. It introduced viewers to five childhood friends played by Rock, James, Spade, Schneider, and Sandler. After 30 years apart, they get together over July 4th alongside their wives and kids.
The film earned $271 million at the global box office, becoming Sandler’s highest-grossing movie outside of Hotel Transylvania.
Three years later, Grown Ups 2 hit theaters. The film brought the group of friends together again when Sandler’s character, Lenny, moved back to their hometown. The friends must deal with old and new rivals alike.
The film grossed $247 million worldwide.
