The Pitt stars Noah Wyle and Katherine LaNasa appeared at Warner Bros. Upfronts with some exciting news.
The pair revealed several pieces of information about The Pitt season 3, including the time period it’s set in, production, and more.
Setting for Season 3
We are finally getting information about The Pitt season 3.
About to start production, Wyle shared with Deadline that, “It’s set in early November, just before the holidays, ushering in a whole new set of emergencies and confrontations and complications.”
While he wasn’t specific about which November holiday he was referring to, there would only be two options: Veterans Day and Thanksgiving.
Fans who have enjoyed the show may have noticed that veterans play an important part in several The Pitt characters, including Dr. Jack Abbot and Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi. In season 2, Duke Ekins is also introduced. Ekins is both a veteran and an old friend of Dr. Robby’s.
While most speculation would follow the November holiday being Thanksgiving, it would be prudent to cross out Veterans Day right now.
We’ll just have to wait for more details to come out.
The Pitt Season 3
Work on the writers for The Pitt season 3 started in March, confirmed by executive producer and director John Wells.
He added, “We will be back in production in June, and plan to be back on the air again the same week in January with 15 episodes next year.”
Wyle also shared, “We’re about to start production on Season 3.”
What is The Pitt About?

The Pitt is a medical drama that showcases the challenges of U.S. frontline healthcare workers through the lens of the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center’s emergency department.
Providing an hour-by-hour format, the show focuses on the medical cases and personal crises physicians and nurses must adapt to and overcome during their shift.
When Will Season 3 Premiere?
As of right now, the production team behind the medical series is planning for the same debut timeframe as both season one and season two.
Season one’s first episode came out on January 9th, 2025, while season two’s first episode came out on January 8th, 2026.
If they follow the same pattern, The Pitt season 3 should premiere on January 7th, 2027.
John Wells stated that they “plan to be back on the air again the same week in January with 15 episodes next year.”
