The Bear is preparing to serve its final dish.
Several sources have claimed the Hulu series is ending with its upcoming fifth season.
Coming to an End
Signs have long been pointing to a finite run for The Bear.
Jeremy Allen White, the star of the show, has even mentioned in previous interviews that series creator Christopher Storer originally had a four-season story arc in mind.
This move isn’t too much of a surprise, especially after season four ended with Carmy Berzatto deciding to leave both his restaurant and the culinary business, signing over his stake in the final episodes.
Plus, the show is layered with grief and trauma, which can’t realistically be brought up forever. After the fourth season ended, FX ordered a fifth in July 2025.
As of right now, the series is filming in and around Chicago and is slated to debut on Hulu later this year. Past seasons have released in late June.
Curtis Confirmation
Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Carmy and Natalie’s mother in the series, first stirred rumors on February 17th about the series ending. She posted a photo of herself and co-star Abby Elliott from the season five set.
In the caption, Curtis wrote, “FINISHED STRONG! Surrounded by an extraordinary crew and group of writers and producers and scene partners on the show that Chris Storer created, completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with.”
She later appeared in an interview with Entertainment Tonight and elaborated on her post. “It is the end of the show. Everybody knows it’s the end of the show. I’m not breaking any news to anybody. It’s the end of the show — they’ve said it from the beginning.”
In another interview with Access Hollywood, Curtis added, “But everybody’s confirmed the show is ending. I don’t understand why that’s such a [big deal]. Unless I’m gonna get a call from all the people saying, “you just told [everyone],’ I think everybody understood that it was the least season of the show. If it isn’t, then I’ve completely blown it.”
