Disney’s streaming calendar for September 2025 is coming together as the summer season winds down and schools get ready to return to class.

After an eventful summer, the service is continuing the exciting content with a blend of biographical drama, mystery, sci-fi, and music-centered comedy, all within the new Disney cross-platform ideology.

Swiped

Swiped is a biographical drama that centers around Wolfe Herd’s acent in the tech world and the eventual creation of Bumble. Rachel Lee Goldenberg is the director and co-writer of the film, with Lily James taking the title role.

The film will first premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9th, then head to streaming on Disney+ internationally, and Hulu in the United States.

Only Murders in the Building

Our favorite trio is back for more mysteries with the fifth season of Only Murders in the Building. The Emmy-winning series stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. The new season will launch on September 9th, with three episodes dropping at launch on Disney+ internationally, and concurrently on Hulu in the U.S., followed by weekly installments.

The season will feature star-studded twists and guest shocks, continuing the show’s tradition.

Futurama

Another beloved show, this one animated, is Futurama, which will also be returning to the Disney cross-platform slate.

The series will drop on September 15th with all ten episodes of the new season, aligned with a simultaneous drop on Hulu in the U.S. and international platforms. Some regions may also be able to access the show on traditional cable.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past

Continuing in the animated world is a new addition to the Star Wars franchise with LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy Pieces of the Past.

The four-part sequel series, expanding Sig Greebling’s universe, is slated to arrive on Disney+ on September 19th, with the earlier titles in the series paving the way.

Electric Bloom

Finally, a different kind of show is making sound in the middle of September. Titled Electric Bloom, the music-centered comedy bridges Disney Channel’s youth focus with a Disney cross-platform strategy. The series centers on three teenage friends who create a pop group and chase stardom. Eric Friedman, Alex Fox, and Rachel Lewis created the show.

It will be released in two stages, with the first two episodes on Disney Channel on July 10th, then a Disney+ debut on September 17th, and the final installments in October.

Large September Release

Disney’s September release promises to be big, and you can see all the upcoming shows laid out on the Next on Disney+ page. While some of the series will be released in stages, others will get the full season all at once, providing a balance of weekly and binge-worthy shows.
