Enola Holmes is back to solve another case.

Netflix has officially dropped first-look images for Enola Holmes 3, following Sherlock Holmes’ equally clever younger sister. Clues and romance are on the horizon for Enola.

Will she solve her latest case?

Enola Holmes 3 Plot

The official synopsis for Enola Holmes 3 is as follows:

“Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide on a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before. As the private detective juggles the new case and the next stages of her relationship with Tewkesbury, the game is truly afoot.”

First-look images feature Enola in a sunny new location, potential nuptials to Lord Tewksbury as Enola dons a veil, and even a deadly-looking fire.

Premiere Date

Netflix confirmed the release date of Enola Holmes 3 globally on July 1st.

Cast Members

Along with Millie Bobby Brown and Louis Partridge, the cast includes Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes, Himesh Patel as Dr. John Watson, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Moriarty.

Behind the Scenes

Philip Baranti is directing the film, taking over from Harry Bradbeer, who helmed the first two Enola Holmes films.

The script is written by Jack Thorne, based on the book series The Enola Holmes Mysteries by Nancy Springer.

Executive producers include Joshua Grode, Jake Bongiovi, and Isobel Richards. Producers are Brown, Thorne, Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Ali Mendes, Robert Brown, and Michael Dreyer.

More Mature Characters

Millie Bobby Brown got on with Tudum to talk about Enola Holmes, and how she’s a version that “feels much more defined but still evolving.”

“She’s built something for herself, which is amazing, but she’s also questioning what she wants next,” Brown explained. “I think that’s something so many people can relate to. There’s this pressure of, ‘Ok, I’ve achieved this…but who am I now?'”

She added, “I’ve grown up alongside her, so exploring those themes felt really personal. It’s about balancing independence with love, ambition with vulnerability, and figuring out what parts of yourself you want to hold onto versus what you’re ready to let change. That felt really honest to play.”

She enjoyed working with Partridge, and he plays a “huge part” in why the films continue to feel so special.

“What’s been really nice is getting to explore a more mature version of their relationship. It’s not just playful anymore, it has real weight to it. We trust each other a lot, which means we can take more risks and really lean into the emotional side of their story,” she continued.
