It’s no surprise that another Avatar film ranked high in the grossing charts, as the other two films also went over the $1 billion threshold. The third film features the grief-laden Sully family encountering an aggressive Na’vi tribe that leads to a fiery conflict. 2. Zootopia 2, $1.80 billion
Second on our list of highest grossing movies in 2025 is Zootopia 2. Nine years after the original film, this family feature was highly anticipated and earned $100,262,540 in its opening weekend, finishing with $1,830,234, 346. The film follows Judy Hopps and her partner Nick Wilde on another cop case, this one the most perilous of their careers.

Last but not least on our list of highest grosssing movies in 2025 is Ne Zha 2. The Chinese film raked in $2,216,990,000 during its run in theaters. It follows Ne Zha and Aobing, whose souls are saved after a catastrophe, but their bodies face ruin. To give them new life, Taiyi Zhenren looks to the mystical seven-coolored lotus to rebuild them and change their fate.
