One of my favorite movies from 2020 and recent years, Where the Crawdads Sing isn’t completely focused on a murder mystery, but the growth of an abandoned little girl who later gets accused of killing a man. Kya raised herself after her father left, living in the wild marshlands of North Carolina. When she gets drawn to two young men, Kya finally gets a glimpse of the real world. When one of them is found dead though, she becomes the main suspect, but the truth is quite unclear and only the verdict will decide Kya’s fate.
