15. Chang Can Dunk (Released Marth 10)
Chang Can Dunk is about a teenager who is Asian American, and he loves basketball. All he wants to do is dunk and get his dream girl. The catch is that he can’t dunk to save his life and he just challenged the popular basketball player that he could beat him. While juggling that, he learns more about his best friend, mother, and himself.
14. Prom Pact (Released March 30)
Prom Pact features a feminist that has no ambition to fall in love. Mandy Yang doesn’t believe in a heteronormative type of love, which is often regarded as the most “normal.” She is surprised to find an unexpected chemistry in a boy and now she doesn’t know what to do.
13. Peter Pan & Wendy (April 28)
Peter Pan and Wendy is a movie that follows the wild adventures of a boy who doesn’t want to grow up. He finds some friends in London who are siblings and takes them on a magical journey. He shows them the enchanted island of the Neverland. It is based on the famous animated movie Peter Pan but this one is live action that Disney created.
12. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 (May 5)
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is about Peter Quill trying to recover after the loss of Gamora after what Thanos did. Peter gathers his team to go and save the universe again, including one of their team members. This mission could mean the loss of the Guardians if they are unsuccessful.
11. Crater (May 12)
Crater is about a boy who loses his father and grows up in a lunar mining colony. He and his best friends go on a trip to explore the legendary crater before being moved indefinitely to another planet. Madison Grace who is in Young Sheldon stars in this movie along with Isaiah Russell-Bailey who you might know from Family Reunion.
10. The Little Mermaid (May 26)
The Little Mermaid is a story about a young mermaid that wishes to live on the land with real people. She makes a deal with an evil sea witch to trade in her powerful, beautiful voice so she can have human legs. She will discover what happens in the world above water and meet a handsome prince. This is a live action movie that has important significance because it shows a lot of little girls that look like Halle Bailey they can star in movie just like she did.
9. Elemental (June 16)
Elemental is about the different elements of the world: fire, water, land, and air. The story follows Ember and Wade in the city where they live together. The two elements never really get together because one is fire and the other is water, so the pair doesn’t make sense in the world of elements. They are complete opposites because one burns things while the other can be used for good all around. Check out the movie this summer to see what this means and where Disney takes the plot.
8. World’s Best (June 23)
World’s Best is about Raj Patel, a math expert obsessed with becoming a rap musician like his late father had dreamed of. He becomes close to losing everything while he is trying to attempt to achieve his purpose in life.
7. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (June 30)
Another one of the Disney movies coming out in 2023 takes us back to an old fan favorite franchise: Indiana Jones. The movie, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, is about the archaeologist Indiana Jones who hasn’t been in the game for quite some time. He comes back to help recover a mythical artifact that will change the path of history.

6. Haunted Mansion (July 28)
Haunted Mansion is about Gabbie, a single mom who hires a priest, psychic and tour guide, and historian to help with her newly bought mansion. She wants the place to be exorcised after discovering that ghosts inhabit it. This is different than the original Haunted Mansion movie from 2003 because it features a single women living into the mansion instead of a family. The storyline is also different due to the fact that in the original, they never got any one to help exorcise the home and were surprised by the presence of ghosts.
5. The Creator (September 29)
The Creator is about a post apocalyptic world and how it is in the future when artificial intelligence (AI) is all around us. A war takes place between humans and AI, and since AI knows everything, it doesn’t look too good for humans. This movie’s concept is all too real these days, making it exciting and terrifying. Prepare yourself for the movie theater on September 29th.
4. The Marvels (November 10)
The Marvels is about Carol Danvers as she gets her powers tangled with Kamala Khan and Monica Rameau, forcing them to come together to save the universe and unite forces. Marvel has been adding female-only casts into the Marvel Cinematic Universe lately. This is a powerful message to young women everywhere similar to Captain Marvel from the recent past.
3. Wish (November 22)
Wish is about Asha, a young girl who wishes on a star and gets an answer that isn’t exactly what she expected. She never bargained for trouble, but a trouble-making star came down to join her, and that was not what she had in mind. This is a comedy and adventure movie that will take you on a ride about what happens after you wish upon a star in the modern world of Disney.
2. Aladdin: Live From the West End (To be determined)
Aladdin: Live From the West End is a live recording of the Broadway musical. It is based on the classic animated film that aired in 1992. Not everyone can get to Broadway, so Disney is bringing it to you by adding it to Disney+ this year.
1. Three Men and a Baby (To be determined)
Three Men and a Baby is a remake of the classic and popular 1987 film. Three bachelors find themselves in a bit of a jam. One of the guy’s girlfriends leaves the baby with them, forcing them to take care of it. Zac Efron is expected to be starring as one of the bachelors. There has not been talk about when it will be released other than in late 2023.

Clearly, with 15 films, there are so many Disney movies coming that we can look forward to. These films will be released in a variety of ways including on Disney+ and out in theaters. Get ready for a great year of Disney Movies full of thriller, drama, romance, and action.
