Ballers is a unique one on the list and is one of the best dramedies streaming right now. The sports dramedy was created by Stephen Levinson and stars Dwayne Johnson as Spencer Strasmore, a retired NFL player who must navigate his new career of choices as the financial manager of other NFL players.

Everything Sucks was created by Ben York Jones and Michael Mohan that parodies teen culture in the mid-90s. Ten half-hour episodes for Netflix were released in 2018.

Looking at a little bit of a darker comedy-drama, we have End of the F***ing World which can be found on Netflix. The show is based on Charles Forsman’s mini-comics which were collected into a book in 2013.
The story focuses on James, a 17-year-old who believes himself to be a psychopath, and Alyssa, an angry classmate of his who sees in James a chance to escape her tumultuous home life. Shrinking is a new series in 2023 and stars amazing names like our beloved Harrison Ford, Jason Segel, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, and more. The comedy-drama was created by Bill Lawrence, Segel, and Brett Goldstein. The story follows Segel who is playing a grieving therapist who decides to become drastically more involved in his patients’ lives.
Not only does he ignore his training and ethics, he tells his patients exactly what he thinks and finds himself making huge changes in people’s lives, including his own. Even though it’s a newer show, this is one of the best dramedies streaming right now.
13. Atypical, Netflix (2017-2021)
Atypical is one of the best shows recently, even though it concluded in 2021 with the fourth and final season. The comedy-drama was created by Robia Rashid for Netflix and takes place in Connecticut. The story focuses on the life of 18-year-old Samuel Gardner who is on the autism spectrum.

Starring Kristen Bell, William Jackson Harper, Jameela Jamil, Ted Danson, and Manny Jacinto, the story follows four people who have died and have made it to the afterlife in the “Good Place”. Kristen Bell played Eleanor Shellstrop, realizes she was sent there by mistake and must hide her morally imperfect past behavior while becoming a better version of herself. It’s hilarious, unique, and full of chaos.
11. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Prime Video (2017-2023)
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a period comedy-drama series that was created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and premiered on Prime Video in 2017. The story takes place in the late 50s and early 60s with flashforwards to alter decades in the final season.
