Some characters capture the audience’s hearts without even trying. While we get to see and understand the main character’s origin and personality, we miss out on learning about some really cool side characters. Having successful spinoff movies and shows already, such as Loki, fans cannot help but hope for a spinoff series for their own favorite character. Here are 7 characters who deserve their own spinoff.
7. Wong (Doctor Strange)

Wong, in Doctor Strange, quickly captured the hearts of audiences. After two successful Doctor Strange films, as well as appearances in several other Marvel movies, fans simply cannot get enough of the wise and humorous character.
Many fans hope for a Wong spinoff series. As Sorcerer Supreme, audiences can only imagine what he gets up to when he is not on screen. Actor Benedict Wong even responded to the requests, saying, “We have to give them what they want.”
Wong also pointed out that there is a five-year gap when the character becomes the Sorcerer Supreme and continues to train students. A spinoff series would give fans an inside look at his experiences and help them understand him better.
6. Steve Harrington and Dustin Henderson (Stranger Things)

Steve and Dustin formed an unexpected friendship during Season 2 of Stranger Things that fans quickly fell in love with. Nancy’s jerk boyfriend and the lovable nerdy kid shouldn’t have worked together, yet somehow, they did. They help each other in unexpected ways and make each other better, forming a brother-like relationship.
Fans have expressed their love for the duo, hoping for a spin-off series. Some people imagine a comedy road trip series where the pair tries to figure out their lives without supernatural elements, while others imagine them as unconventional cops investigating paranormal activity.
In either scenario, fans have made it clear that they have not had enough of this beloved duo.
5. The Other Mother (Coraline)

Though she calls herself The Other Mother, she is anything but motherly. The Other Mother, or The Beldam, lures Coraline into a world she created. It is full of excitement, love, and attention, which is a stark contrast to the neglect she had been feeling from her real parents.
The Beldam’s true intention is revealed by the previous victims, the three ghost children. She does not want a daughter to love, but a target to eat to be sustained.
Audiences know the Beldam can shapeshift, and that her true form resembles a spider. However, no one knows where she came from or what she is. An Other Mother spinoff, such as a prequel, would reveal the origin of this monstrous character. It could even showcase the lives of the ghost children before they were subject to The Beldam’s wrath.
4. The Marauders (Harry Potter)

The Marauders had one of the most famous friendships in Harry Potter (besides Harry, Ron, and Hermione, of course). Consisting of James Potter, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew, the group has been through a lot together.
How they became friends, when Peter decided to betray James and Lily, Lily’s perspective shift of both Severus Snape and James, are all plot lines begging to be explored. A spinoff series of their time at Hogwarts would give fans the insight they’ve been asking for.
While each of these friends ultimately met their death as a result of Voldemort, the impact they had on Harry was immeasurable. So much so that fans have been asking for this spinoff for years.
3. Nebula and Gamora (Guardians of the Galaxy)

As the adopted daughters of Thanos competing for his love and acceptance, this sister duo had a complicated relationship. However, regardless of their hardships, the two still loved each other and were able to move past their difficult childhood. Gamora actress Zoe Saldana would love to explore their relationship growing up in a spinoff series.
Saldana explained that their relationship could be relatable to people who have a strained family life but lean on their brothers and sisters to survive. Both Saldana and Nebula actress Karen Gillian feel protective of the sister relationship between the characters.
Though Saldana previously revealed that her time playing Gamora was likely over, she said she could be tempted to return for a Gamora and Nebula spinoff series.
2. Arya Stark (Game of Thrones)

After the conclusion of season 8 of Game of Thrones, many characters had conclusive storylines. However, Arya Stark’s story was left very open-ended.
Fans love Stark’s character, wanting to know more about her and where she ends up. After she leaves her family in search of a new life, free from traditional expectations, fans are eager to know where her journey takes her.
Does she find a place where she feels like she belongs? Does she find what she is looking for? A spinoff series would help answer these questions and give Arya Stark the happy ending she deserves.
1. Rubeus Hagrid (Harry Potter)

Last on our list of characters who deserve their own spinoff is Rubeus Hagrid. Hagrid is the lovable character who rescues Harry from the Dursleys’ abuse. He is known to have amazing creatures as pets, such as a dragon or a three-headed dog. Eventually, he takes on a role as the Care for Magical Creatures teacher at Hogwarts.
In The Chamber of Secrets, fans discover why Hagrid is not allowed to use magic. Voldemort, or Tom Riddle, had framed him for opening the Chamber of Secrets, which resulted in the death of a student. The only person who believed in Hagrid’s innocence was Dumbledore.
Eager to learn more about the lovable character, audiences hope for a Hagrid spinoff. Whether it is his life at Hogwarts and relationship with Riddle, or what happens after the defeat of Voldemort, fans would love to see more of this beloved character.
