Many of Disney’s most prominent titles, including Christopher Robin, will transfer from Netflix to its new streaming service, Disney+, which goes live November 12. So when is the Disney+ release date for Christopher Robin?

It’s not until September 5, 2020, but fans of the movie can still tune in on Netflix until then. That marks the expiration of Netflix’s exclusive rights agreement with Disney for the film.

A children’s film about mid-life crisis

There’s a lot of nostalgia to go around in Christopher Robin. Longtime Winnie The Pooh voice actor Jim Cummings leads that charge, nailing this latest iteration of his iconic role.

Here’s a synopsis of the film:

In this heartwarming tale from Disney, Christopher Robin, the boy who had countless adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood, has grown up and lost his way. Now it’s up to his spirited and loveable stuffed animals, Winnie The Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and the rest of the gang, to rekindle their friendship and remind him of endless days of childlike wonder and make-believe, when doing nothing was the very best something.

Disney

Disney tugs at your heartstrings again, yet in a different and surprising way. Many have criticized live-action adaptations of animated characters as cash grabs. Christopher Robin still features the innocence of Pooh and friends, but is a more mature take on the central character.

Ewan McGregor gives a fine leading performance and carries the movie amid long stretches of acting essentially by himself. Between this and highly anticipated sequels Doctor Sleep and Birds of Prey, McGregor is enjoying a silver screen resurgence.

4K/HDR/Dolby Atmos

The Mouse House is bringing out all the bells, whistles and stunning visuals, which means Christopher Robin will be presented on Disney+ in 4K, HDR, and Dolby Atmos.

You won’t have to pay extra for higher quality, either. The $6.99 monthly price tag of Disney+ will offer the best possible presentation of Christopher Robin in terms of video and audio quality.
